  • Industry analysis – size and growth, product segments, demand factors, key players/competitors, policy and external developments, medium-term outlook, etc
  • Market research – characteristics, size and growth of the market faced by the client; outlook; identification of other market opportunities, threats, etc
  • Strategic planning – from providing inputs such as market monitoring and information, macroeconomic forecast, and/or industry overview, to facilitating the development of strategic plan including identifying the resource requirements and shifts in the business model through an interactive process with the client’s key managers.
  • Least cost analysis/analysis of best alternative – recommendation as to the most cost-effective option given a number of alternatives and criteria for analysis (ideal for choosing the best location/s for the project, or the best project design)
  • Assessment of impact of specific policy developments or policy reform issues on the client’s business    
  • Feasibility studies – to determine if a proposed project is a go; covers market, financial, technical, organizational and legal aspects (excludes environmental assessment)
  • Media monitoring – tracking of items/topics of interest to clients in pre-selected publications

  • Validated the target market and suggested new market niches, including projected revenue levels, and packaged the entire strategic (3-year) plan for the Philippine subsidiary of one of the world’s top IT network system company. (2007)
  • Prepared Philippine economic and regional forecast, including implications on business, and identified market opportunities, not only in the Philippines but also in countries where the client operates, the client being the corporate planning department of the country’s top food and beverages firm. (1998-2006)
  • Provided specialized assessment and outlook on the Philippine economy, regions, and consumer market in relation to the businesses the country’s major broadcasting network is engaged in, or is planning to. (2007)
  • Prepared a business plan for the property development component for the mass transit project in Metro Manila of a consortium of foreign and local firms. (2004-2005)
  • Prepared a paper in support of the advocacy of a major US-based call center company to rationalize the incentives scheme for investors planning to put up a call center in areas outside of Metro Manila. (2005)
  • Assessed human resource availability (accounting graduates) for an international credit card company planning to put up an accounting back office in the Philippines. (2001)
  • Performed demand forecasting for the client’s product, which is cement, identifying the demand drivers; client is one of the country’s major cement manufacturers. (2006)
  • Monitored the Philippine property market and government infrastructure projects on a quarterly basis for an
  • Australian-based manufacturer of plasterboards. (2001-2002)
  • Prepared quarterly reports on the Philippine regional markets and updates on key
    market indicators for a top Japanese electronic appliance company. (2001)
  • Conducted a technical evaluation of possible local sub-contractors for the assembly of search and rescue vessels for an Australian shipbuilder. (2005)
  • Conducted a nationwide survey for a gaming company to determine market response to its plan to raise the minimum bet and introduce a new game. (2007)
